i don't see why she just didn't use down...
    It works.
    It is well made.
    It is a masterpiece.
It matches my full length UQ

i'm not knocking her stuff at all. i love her summer UQ. i use it a lot. i just don't see how the synthetic insulation is a benefit. i don't really believe that "synthetic insulates better when compressed". insulation, to me, is about loft and dead air space. so 1" of dead air space of down is the same insulating value as 1" of dead air space of synthetic.

so i guess what i'm asking is, is the non-compressability of the synthetic insulation (its achillles heel) used to its advantage in this situation?

i'm just trying to get my head around it...

I assumed this to be the case when considering which tq to buy, when you compress the down it becomes very thin but the climashield has more loft when you compress it, it also seemsto have better memory than down, so it bounces back to full loft quicker.i don't know how this all works in a real world situation, but I guess I will soon find out .either way i am really happy with this quilt, its a really nice piece of work

hey bb i'm sorry. i wasn't trying to rain on your parade or say you bought a pos. not at all. if the TQ is anything like the UQ (which i'm sure it is) you've got a really nice piece of gear.

so hangnout/leighlo use the non-compressability of climashield (which is a negative in most cases) as a benefit in their TQ design?

interested to hear them chime in on the subject...

maybe i be discussing this in a separate thread. i don't want to muck bb's up...

    very true sir
Dale Gribble: I'm thinking, "new hammock." For me, laying and swaying in a hammock is like a steady morphine drip without the risk of renal failure.

Randy : yea but just remember yer roots and where ya come from....you got Hennessy in yer blood son......

Alot of people tuck the edges of the TQ under them to trap the heat better.
