So recently me and my friend have had an interest in doing some extreme hanging. We were thinking about doing some hanging on rock facesover large gaps. We have all the gear to keep us safe should the hammock fail, but ive been kinda puzzled as to what the best suspension for the hammock would be. It will be gaps that may be larger, possibly up to or slightly over 50 ft in some cases. These also need to be solid rigs. We have safety backups, but we plan to keep those as, well, backups. i dont trust 1/8in amsteel simply due to possible fraying against the rocks with such a small diameter, and the thicker stuff is too expensive to get great lengths of it. What other type of line would you suggest as a suspension. I was hoping to use a single line suspension system but im open to whatever would fit the situation the best. Thanks for all the help.
