    slack in structural ridgeline

I added a ridgeline (83% of total length) to my new GT UL. When i did a test hang, there was slack in it... What causes this?

The slack will go away as you tighten up the suspension, e.g., pull the whoopie slings tighter, if you are using those. But not too tight!

This will of course raise the hammock higher than before, perhaps too high.

There's an art to placing the tree straps, adjusting the tension, getting the hammock the level you like off the ground....

practice hanging on different trees, you'll get a sense of what to do.

Thanks, have no experience with the ridgeline due to the lack of it in the bridge.
