    Which shell fabric?

I am contemplating putting together an IX UQ. I think I will be doing two layers, with a single outside shell.

What fabric should I do the shell in? Was sorta thinking about going with M90. Anything lighter is far more expensive (7D, M55) - and I am not sure it would be worth it.

The only function the outer shell is going to do is to keep dirt, twigs, stickers, etc. off the IX. The IX is waterproof already, so just some 1.1 nylon. Silnylon would be needless extra weight. And, I would only put it on the outside. Leave the IX bare next to the hammock.

I made a double layer IX top quilt and did not put any shell on it. Then again, I'm a gram weenie. If some body looks at me funny, I just tell them I'm not finished with it yet.
