Hammock Podcast?

So I went looking around and found NOTHING! What is the deal? I would love to help/host one if there is interest in making one.

The details of hammock items are very visual. Podcasts are not.

It just doesn't lend itself towards that medium.

Count me in! I could totally see this happening. There are ways to integrate images into podcasts, or even make a video-podcast. But would people be interested?

That's called YouTube video's, just do them more regularly.

There was one or two done with the Practical Backpacking podcasts. I think Brandon from Warbonnet did one and someone from Clark did the other.

Other then that there are practically none currently active. I don’t think PB is even broadcasting anymore.

I could see doing a series of 10-15 just talking hammocks, techniques, locals, dyi, etc, however I think it would be a stretch to push for very long. The cast could have interviews with various "known" hammockers and manufactures like Warbonnet and OES could talk about their products. Also in reality it could just be a backpacking/camping podcast that happens to focus on hammocks so there could be various topics covered, from new gear (stoves, pads, quilts), going UL, leave no trace etc.

Honestly, the more I ramble about the more I think it could be done. There seems to be a gap at the moment for backpacking podcasts and with the increased interest in hammocks, it just may work.

I think a weekly might be to much, but 2x a month would give time to get a lot of information together.

I guess the real question becomes, would the HF team allow for a show to be posted from time to time (if not official)? And if so, could the show be promoted on the forums?
