I am in Amarillo thismorning, we should be done around noon.. Then I can drive back down to the canyon.
When I turn in my expense report with $17.00 a night charges instead of the allowed $150.00 a night stuff they are gonna freak.

I'm from Amarillo. The park also allows you to hang from the big timbers of the awnings in each campsite. May actually see a little rain down there today.

It is raining right now here in Amarillo.
Yep they will let you hang from the big timbers on the shade cover.

The area I stayed Monday night was one of the older primative sites, I guess it had metal poles for the shade supports.

I stayed at the canyon back in February, it was great. Watch out for the turkeys! I also had something with two eyes staring at me as I unloaded in the dark.

RE: few sites to hang from. The next day, I stayed on the other side of the ditch at Caprock Canyons. There was one site with trees large enough to hang from. Got down in the 20's that night.

Very pretty Park. I didn't get to see the buffalo though.

LOL. Check the back of my helmet.

I've been to Roswell. There some nice folk there.

But I keep driving when I see things like this in Mississippi:

    More Pics added

Here is my pictures from Palo Duro Canyon State Park this past week.

To recap, I flew up to Amarillo for our company. Instead of staying in a high dollar hotel, I had taken my hammock gear in my suit case, and when I could I stayed at Palo Duro, about 25 miles or so away from Amarillo.

This is what I found when I got there....

Here is my bedroom and kitchen the first night,

    and of course A/C

    Here are pics up stairs
