    Next Tarp - JRB Style?

What could be more versatile than a JRB style 11x10?

I'm planning a new tarp build. I have a small 9x9 I pitch as a diamond, but I'm not good enough to get great coverage from it. I have my giant hex that I love, but it's pretty heavy @ like 36oz.

I've looked at most every style and can't think of a better all around shape than the rectangle, and 11x10 seems to be a very sweet spot. I don't really winter hang, so just looking for good coverage options and Baker Hut style appeals to me a lot too.

Got my 1.1 silnylon and scissors in hand.

    Anything I've missed?

I agree with you. The next tarp I make will probably be an 11'X10' with doors. Almost like a BWDD Winter dream, but with the doors a bit shorter. My current one is a 12'x10', and it's humongous, almost too big sometimes. It's rectangular, with the door tieouts 3' down each long edge, and a cat cut 6' long in the middle. I've found that's really the only one that's necessary for a tight pitch. The next one will probably be 12' along the edges and 11' at the ridgeline.
Sounds like you've got a good handle on the size you want.

Oh, and hey neighbor, I'm down in Radford, but grew up in Ch'ville and Orange.

Hey PF, whatcha doing down there? Traitor! jk...

Yeah, I'm pretty sold on this shape and size. It's just so versatile. I expect to get good coverage and keep it around a pound. Lots of tie outs!

    Also, it's just so easy.

I'm also in agreement. I like the rectangle over all shape with small cat cuts such as the JRB. Very versatile, and I actually prefer the coverage of an 11 ft rectangle to that of a somewhat longer hex cut. And then there is the Baker Hut configuration!

Any patterns floating around that might be similar? I'm trying to figure out how many and placement of tie outs and cat cuts...if I do them... and how deep.
