    Mayan hammock

I also sleep full time in a tommy hamaca xx grande! It's the most comfortable hammock I own out of nine.

the hammock i currently sleep in is a "tommy hamaca xx grande". it is huge with a very tight weave, as long as i have a top cover it is warm enough for warm weather, i would love to get one of the crochet hammocks , a little pricey but way cheaper than any mattress, in the cold months i sleep in the brazilian mentioned in my previous post
How do you have that brazilian strung up? Do you use some type of hammock stand?

Hey guys , well i got the hammock yesterday and got it put up , here's my setup :

Question , there are holes on each side for the hammock to support the stud , i was wondering if anyone can tell me the best setup , high or the head side , lower , and should there be more tension or less , thank you .

Brushybill, I read that one is supposed to put a pad or something underneath the hammock in case it fails. Is this unpractical/unnecessary when sleeping indoors?

Also, would this hammock be a good, cheaper alternative to what the Original Poster purchased (for his needs)? Or is the tommy hammaca xx grande the way to go? I couldn't find any specs about the bed-size of the tommy hammaca...

Edit: Would something like a trek-light or an eno double work just as well? Or would a nicaraguan/yucatan/mayan be more comfortable?

Both of my sons have been sleeping exclusivly in hammocks for over a year now. We had to get rid of thier beds due to bedbugs. I just bought a couple of 9x6 painter's canvas dropcloths from WalMart and grathered end hung them with paracord after a couple of washes with an ample load of fabric softenner and a couple of tennis shoes. The yougest son tore his to pieces after a few months of rough playing in it. The other son uses his new storebought model as a gear loft and sleeps in his Camp Smiley Conestoga.
I've got 'em posted on here somewhere. Sorry I didn't post sooner, better late than never though.
