    Hang Low – Ride High

    First Trip Report
Over the weekend the wife and I put the hammocks to use in the Wenatchee National Forest in the Central Cascades of Washington. For the inaugural test we stayed near the trailhead and truck and trailer and then rode out and up onto the mountain ridges. Had a great time and learned a lot in setting up the hammocks. The set up wasn’t too terribly different from setting up a highline to secure the horses overnight. Bowlines, half hitches, and a few marlin spikes, took care of rope work. Getting the proper sag in the hammocks was the bigger challenge but that will come in time and more trips.
These are our hammocks an Eno Double nest with optional netting package and a Grand Trunk Skeeter Beater. I preferred the GT Skeeter Beater.

WOW. That second picture is fantastic, even without a hammock in sight.

I'm very envious of you being able to get out like that on horses and experience the wilderness. Looks amazing.
