What is your guess on warmth for pad alone ??

I've got one & like it alot. Like Karl I got down to about 40 no problem but I a warm sleeper also.

I have used CCF mostly but how about just regular fleece for something breathable ??

I was looking at getting one of these as well. Mainly to reduce the bulk of a traditional ccf pad. Glad to hear they are good to 40ish. I am a warm sleeper also, am gonna have to pick one of these up.

Just general right now. I have been down to 14dF with a different CCF pad and a garlington taco.

All my hammocks are double layer so I can insert most anything between.
Actually just 2 hammocks whipped together.

Was thinking Fleece for an UQ for mid summer and I already have some. That combined with a 2.5xp M90 top quilt. Maybe a low of 60.

For 3 season down to 25-30 df I was thinking this CCF pad with a maybe an one or 2 layer Insultex booster or the CCF pad and a 2.5 XP UQ. That with a 5 XP top quilt.

For even colder dont know but probably that CCF + insultex + 2.5 xp UQ.
I have been thinking I might build a different hammock bottom layer with integral insulation since I can just unwhip and rewhip etc.

The R-value of the 1/4" pad is 1. Thermodynamics says that would offers 10-15 degrees of warmth (reduced heat loss) beyond whatever else you are using.
