DOWNTOWN BROWN!!!!
Thanks for the review Fourdog
To me, it looks the best cold weather set-up yet made for more extreme outings. The ability to go to ground using the pad, as well as using the DAM in the hammock without it being made tippy, is a big plus.
It looks like the mat will be usable with more air in too.
I'm sorely tempted, trying to make a clone looks time consuming!
I'm just not feeling the love...
It's like the guy with the vet that shows up at the mustang rally.
Nice looking setup. I uploaded a few pictures - there is a large neoair trekker installed - fits perfectly. The tree "button" ropes worked very very well. The rain fly attachment is slick with use of toggles. Would like to see how those hold up in some wind.
Some features are definitely different from the previous videos, for instance the bug net has two connecters. The tarp is HUGE. I am 5'11, plenty of room for me in the hammock itself. For those like me who sleep on their side this thing is amazing. There are "Sit here" and "enter this way" prints on the bottom of the hammock, hehe.
I will try to post more if there is interest.
Regards.
Very tempting. It's expensive, but REI's return policy is crazy good, so if it doesn't work to your liking, it can be returned without any financial risk.
I'd love to see more pics, especially a wide angle shot including the tarp. Can that tarp get into "winter mode" to reduce the winds? Seems like with the lay being so different from other hammocks, it may be difficult to get into that A-frame configuration unless the tarp is super large and has side pull-outs.
The tarp does have "doors" that can easily be closed and it absolutely encases the ergo completely - it is cavernous. I will set it up again and post some shots of the whole setup. I am getting ready to head to Fla fishing in the morning so it'll be a couple days.
This is the first hammock I setup myself, although I have tried out a Hennesy and an eno. I gotta say easy to setup maybe 10 minutes. As a noob, it was thankfully simple.
Lots of pics would be great.... A video even better!!! Id also like to see its packed size including tarp with weight. Thanks.
Just found a new to me video on youtube dated march 1 that really shows off the ergo. Look up exped ergo combi part one. Three parts to the videos. Looks like an awesome hammock and might beat out my jrb bridge for a flat lay, will have to see. The bug net looks a little loose and like it might be too close to your face. Weight wize its almost exactly what my bridge and tarp weigh...might b a bit bulkier when packed too. Guess ill have to try one out myself.
I have one in the mail that should be to me on Tuesday. Ill do a pretty extensive comparison to my JRB Bridge. One of these bad boys is staying, the other is going.
