    Nice.

    Great picture !

Really illustrates why hammocks are so excellent for the backcountry camping in the WMNF.

If you are feeling adventurous, take a right off of the A-Z at about elev 2500feet and follow the ridge up to the summit of Whitewall. Lots of birch tress and moose paths to follow. But stay close to the ridge as it gets thicker if you get dragged into the drainage to the east.

That is a nice loop, I will have to try that. maybe combine it with a Shoal Pond > Wilderness > Thoreau loop to add another night or two.
    Love my JRB BMB

I think that's about where I startled a moose on the A-Z. I was eating as I hiked, and not making noise with the hiking poles. It's a boggy area and he (she?) crashed off through the brush from just in front of me. I only saw one other hiker all day on the A-Z trail and that was at the top near the Mt Tom spur. It's a pretty isolated trail.
The more you know, the less you carry.
