Really illustrates why hammocks are so excellent for the backcountry camping in the WMNF.
If you are feeling adventurous, take a right off of the A-Z at about elev 2500feet and follow the ridge up to the summit of Whitewall. Lots of birch tress and moose paths to follow. But stay close to the ridge as it gets thicker if you get dragged into the drainage to the east.
That is a nice loop, I will have to try that. maybe combine it with a Shoal Pond > Wilderness > Thoreau loop to add another night or two.
