No need to buy an underquilt if cost is a consideration. Search the DIY pages and you will learn how to turn many items you may already have handy into a functioning underquilt. Depending on the quality of your finished product combining two or three of theses will get you down to the temps you are looking for.

I am a warm sleeper and have been known to kick the covers off at 10 degrees, however my husband is not. Our system is: Hammock Gear 20 degree underquilt, JRB weather shield, 1 wallyworld blue pad, and a synthetic 0 degree sleeping bag. The underquilt is 3 season and we bring it cause "it cant hoit.." The weather shield lowers the temp rating. you need the full length blue pad, and the sleeping bag is synthetic cause we live in the east and it rains. Safety factor. You can never be too safe at those temps. I will be taking this system to the 3d NJ winter hang. We have an iron chef challange I will be cooking in!!

If that is the bottom entry model, The JRB Winter Nest is solid performer down to the temps you desire...It is a thicker version of The JRB Nest, 3.5 inches of loft...The UQ that started the under quilt approach.
