Can I say a hammock in a tent? Haha. Deffiently a hammock, with a tarp with doors, granted the only bad thunderstorn I've been in was in a hammock with a blue walmart rectangle tarp. Stayed dry.
Have been in both tent and hammock in high wind thunderstorm situations. Prefer hammock all the way.
Thanks for the replies, look for the next question....Help with Amsteel please.
Hammock of course and just like when setting up a tent ... I'm not going to pick the highest trees in the area or on an exposed ridge.
Just like you look for widow makers you have to take in to account things like "not hanging from those two poplar trees in that scrub pine thicket on the ridge"
WARNING: Will discuss Rhurbarb Strawberry Pie and Livermush at random.

Hammock. I like feeling the storm and I hate packing up a wet tent.
Don't let life get in the way of living.
Lightning??? Give me a hammock. If it goes bad, already half way to heaven!
.... the Aardvark (earth pig)... a rather unremarkable creature whose sole claim to fame is that it is the first animal listed in the dictionary.

Hammock, don't care for muddy bottom tents

In the case of an electrical storm, most certainly a hammock. At least while hangng you aren't in the direct path to ground.
