    Warbonnet or Ogee by Gargoyle

Hey guys! I'm getting ready to buy my first hammock and decided to go with the warbonnet single 1.7. My question is which tarp to go with. I like the superfly by warbonnet but I also like the Ogee tarp by gargoyle gear. They are the same price but the Ogee is about 3oz lighter. Any suggestions?

I have not used the Ogee, but I have a Superfly...I love it and I don't regret moving to such a large tarp. IMHO the small sacrifice in wieght is far outhsined by the usefulness and comfort of a large tarp.

I'm not that familiar with the Ogee, but I've had several Warbonnet tarps.

The Superfly is HUGE. If you're looking for a big tarp, then I highly recommend it. Great for privacy.

If you're looking for lighter tarps, there are lighter ones out there, but with less coverage obviously.

It's been said that a skilled hanger and do more with less (tarp)

That's what I was thinking Stan. Both of them are the exact same size but it seems like the Ogee may offer more options.

my superfly is awesome, and i love the camo. you can toss it up in porch mode, pin the doors back, and have a "BMJ" type, and still have doors if you wanna change clothes, or the defecation hits the oscillation.

if youre ever near charleston, id be happy to show you mine. either way you go, youre dealing with good companies. BUT, if you get the WBBB and the SF, you will save on shipping! just sayin

There was also an Ogee for sale for $90. I think it's on the second page.
If it weren't for physics and law enforcement, I'd be unstoppable.

both are great tarps, I dont think you can go wrong with either. also you could check out the wilderness logics old man winter tarp. its 140 weighs 18.6 ounces.

I chose the superfly partly because it looked like a great tarp, and partly to save on shipping (bought my hammock at the same time). I don't regret the decision at all. I camped in some pretty wet conditions and it kept me nice and dry.
