Thanks for posting that. Now I can show my wife that I don't have near enough gear to get me through the winter and I need to start ordering now!!! (I have a lot more driveway to cover. )

Those new HG quilts look awesome. Why is your IX UQ so special?
Stormcrow picked the 7D material. It is great but not quite as great as the Cuben. I also like quilts to have dual colors so I can tell which side is up when setting up at night. The cuben is a gift for someone else, but I'm going to order another to replace it.
I can out fit each quilt with a hammock. I forgot my KAQ and I have a full length summer UQ. Just be glad I didn't start pulling out tarps, that would get crazy
I like the Mac's IX quilt for the full coverage. I don't take it down past 45 degrees, but I have never been cold with it. It also is no fuss and great for wet trips.

The first I heard rumor of cuben being used on a down UQ, 2 questions came to mind...
1) How would the laundering of said product work? I know that down items are minimally laundered, but loosing loft and such after use eventually requires it. Does the only one side of cuben help with this?
2) Will the non-breathing property of cuben lead to condensation? It being on the inside atleast will prevent the condensation from passing into the down.
The gram weenie in me is stoked to see these being created! The Quality Control guy in me always has questions though

Showoff LOL......
i still want that JRB one that turns into a vest... i will get that off you one day BWHAHAHAHAHAH
It puts the Underquilt on it's hammock ... It does this whenever it gets cold
Dutch, you certainly do have the warmest driveway I've ever seen!
I have some 7D material on the way for making a top quilt - can't wait!

1. I have laundered cuben before and had no problems with it. I am sure since it is half Mom55 that it will rinse well which would be my main concern.
2. I have been using sil for the top layer of my quilts for some time. I have never had an issue with it. If I am sweating more than what my clothes and the hammock con't dissipate, then I just need to lose the UQ. There are still stitching holes so it isn't like there is going to be a puddle.
I really cherish that JRB vest UQ. I wonder what the value of that is by now.

Nice collection Dutch. Didn't you used to have a KAQ too?
Your buddy is really lucky to have a generous friend. No pics of the whistle? :P

I did a 1/2 cuben 1/2 55 momentum little different then yours. Each sectin is cubin on one side ans momentum on the other. Next one I do will be for summer. This one has 3 in loft and weighs 17 oz.
