The Goats eat grass, the Great Pyrennes eat bad goats that don't listen . Great report MacEntrye. That section is one of my favorite sections of the AT in North Carolina. I usually start at Hughs Gap just so I can spend some time on Roan Mt.

That's a good idea! Adds about 3 miles, right?

What shuttle do you use to get there?

    shuttle

I'm a free shuttle if I'm in town.
    Otherwise Mountain Harbor will shuttle.
Might add closer to 5 miles and you've done 1-2 of that already.

My hubby and I were there last weekend - we may have hiked past you!

Based on the pics you posted, I don't recall seeing you...

I'm glad none of us wanted to do 17 miles in one day!

Yea, we passed you guys a few miles before overmountain. Your husband was fixing your little dry pack hanging from the back of your pack, then you guys steamrolled right past us. I think you passed us twice.

Very nice, Mac. I've got to get myself up there as soon as I can. Pretty countryside.
