First hang ... Kink in neck

So me and my wife decided to try out the new hammock( hennessy explorer delux) and set them up in the yard and spent the night giving it a try to see what all the fuss was about. We both thought they were great but we woke up with our necks hurting. We slept with pillows and a sheet so we both came to the conclusion that it had to be the pillows. Has anyone had this problem and what could we do to fix it?

I find a small pillow is all you need. I need just enough to support my neck but not lift my head.

Also you may try pitching the foot end of the hammock a few inches higher than the head.

I use just a rolled up stocking cap under my neck. It's just enough support without pitching my head too far forward. I also find hammocks to be comfy without any sort of pillow, so it is no great sacrifice to put my hat on when it gets cold and loosing my pillow. You should try no pillow and work your way up using different size clothing rolled up under your neck.

    Good luck and happy hangin'!

Like obmit I need a small pillow to support my neck. As long as my head is not pushed forward, its fine.

Use smaller pillows or no pillows at all. I find that I only need a very thin pillow in my hammock. YMMV.

I think a neck pillow is more comfortable.
IE I just a roll of foam or most anything.

Found a round couch pillow that is just right for me. Its about 4-5"
    in diameter.

My guess would be that it's the pillows that caused the problem. Unless you are a side sleeper you might not even need a pillow at all. Could try something as simple as a rolled up towel under your neck for support and see if that helps. If you are side sleeping in your hammock try using a folded towel. The advantage to a towel is you can fold or roll it as thick or as thin as you like to better determine how much, if any support is needed.
