    super crazy light hammock....

So i decided i was tired of having just a "lightweight" hammock, so i made a really really light one...

I basically used tzbrown's design, but customized for me. It is only 4 feet wide, and 9 feet long, with a triangular footbox. It is made of 1.1 ripstop, so it is kinda fragile, but i dont plan on hoppin in it with an open knife, so im good. Im 5'9" and 155# so it doesnt have a huge amount of stress. I ran spectra cord through the seams, and attached them to the suspension. The ridge line is spectra as well, and it has 6' amsteel whoopie slings (7/64") larks headed directly to the hammock. one inch wide, 5' long, polyester tree straps, and ill grab a stick or something from my pack to use as toggles. i tested it out and slept in it...its perfect size for me, but i think it would be terrible if i was any taller. TOTAL WEIGHT IN BAG is 6.13 oz! i was pretty happy with that
    Pics are coming soon....

LKS GREAT!!! I, too, have been wanting to make a "pocket hammock". I want mine to be EXTRA WIDE but short. Like 72 inches wide and only 8 feet long, just short amsteel loops larksheaded on the ends. No ridgeline or bugnet, just a footline and short tree straps.

--Purpose? A "sitting hammock" I can set up on hiking breaks and lunch during the day. I'll still carry my "sleeping hammock" for nighttime.

Awesome job and SUPER weight! I'm going to copy your use of 1.1 ripstop. Good idea! I hope I get as good a result as you did! Thanks for posting.

Well done Dandeman. Looks great! Some day, when I learn enough about hammocks and the creation of hammocks, I am gonna make one for myself that is very lightweight like this one here. I just have no clue about dimensions and all that yet

Very cool. Cheap alternative to the Nano7.
