    Oh, and nice site.

Yeah I wanted something that summarized what I've been talking about in my movies and then gave a link to support the info with movies to solidify the info with something visual. Thanks for taking a look!

Glad you liked it. I'm still learning as I go. I'm starting to dial in my winter gear so hopefully after some tests in January (plan on attending the winter hang) I'll have enough info to do a winter gear vid.

I dont want to start tossing bananas at you guys without climbing the tree first

Great work Water Monkey! Keep up with it. Over 100 videos already? You must have some serious time on your hands. If I had that kind of time theres no telling what I would come up with. You've put your time to good use and I am sure people will benefit from it for a long time to come. Hmm... That gives me a bit of inspiration to do some video'ing on my blog too (not too much backpacking related, but I have done some trip reports/stories though - 2008-2009 mostly).

    Kilt?

Watermonkey thanks for all the video's. I enjoy all the insight and experience. I just spent some time watching and reading your take on the ul end of the spectrum, and I just left a post although I'm not sure if it took or not so I am leaving this one. I'd like to know what the advantage of the kilt is, regarding ul hiking. I can imagine some vintilation advantages but no need to discuss those. Thanks.

    Hey Hang Loose,

I was just going to respond to your post on my website but since you posted here I'll respond here too.

I make mention to my personal use of the kilt in my "About the Water Monkey" page:

Great ventilation for the lower half of my body. When you hike you generate a lot of body heat and this helps with keeping your temperature regulated

Easy to put on and easy to take off at camp when I switch out to my “camp clothes” which are a clean set of clothes to wear when I’m done hiking for the day

Makes washing up at streams so much easier. I can wear my kilt and wash my nether region without the concern of frightening the local wildlife

Makes going to the bathroom easier as well. Use your imagination!

Chicks dig scars and men in kilts… I have both, you do the math!

And it's hands down the most comfortable garment I've worn ever.
