I recently got the Mod 4 done on my HH UltraLite Backpacker A-Sym by 2QZQ which certainly helps with hot weather since I can now unzip both sides. Before the mod, the bug netting would retain too much heat for me to sleep comfortably above 75°. On a related note, 2QZQ did a great job and having the bottom slit sewn shut works much better for me.
    Backpacking light, feels so right.

I agree, in fact, I am debating on replacing my bugnet on my Blackbird with bug netting that is more open in structure. In Indiana, I don't need NoSeeUm, and the difference in breathability between the two in significant. I would do it in such a way that I could attach the NoSeeUm back on if I ever do get farther NORTH OR EAST where they are a problem. In fact, I don't really know where they are a problem for sure. Here are a couple of photos I looked up on them.

Since I'm sleeping fulltime in my hammock, in the AC, every night I don't have the need to hang outside during the summer. With our heat, humidity, dengue & west nile mosquitos I just don't think I could do it.
Most of us end up poorer here but richer for being here. Olddog, Fulltime hammocker, 365 nights a year.

Mandydawn and myself are headed out this evening and we are expecting temps around 70. We are hoping that the ridgeline we are sleeping on and the lake in the valley below will keep a nice breeze blowing tonight. Also they are predicting rain so hopefully that will cool the world off as well.

I voted "above 70" because I live in Florida and if I selected any other option, it would mean that I could hike only in January.

I prefer nights in the 30's, just above freezing, so it's cool but there are no ice issues.
Therefore, I travel to New England a lot to hike.

I fall under the camp of "I'll go out at any time, regardless of weather". That is primarily due to the fact that I am massively deficient in my time in the outdoors. My reality is that I almost never go out in temps above 50 at night. Again, due to my time being limited to spring and fall.

Sounds like we should organize a flash trip. Like whenever we see the temps are going to drop, we put out an alert and drum up a quick trip. I cannot wait to get out there.
