So Farao got a firm grip this time.

So about the same time you guys put your canoes in the water, i will be on a plane to santorini.
I feel a bit sorry for the AW, b/c she feels bad about all this.
But it's my fault really, since i have apparently not been clear enough about the dates this time.

I am sorry for the mess this will cause some ppl, but i will try to make it up to the best i can !

I am also sorry that i can't be on the biggest SKAHO ever
Especially now when we got all the nice folks coming from everywhere.

Have a great time guys !
I will try to manage down south
Ouch I was so looking fwd with meeting you.

This thread certainly has dwindled. I'm hoping there is someone there that can breath new life in it as we are less than a month away.

I am flying into Stockholm at 7:35am on July 21st. I will have my hiking gear with me and will be prepared to travel or get to a hotel. We were lookng at 2 options...

    Date = 22 July - 25 July
    Time = 10.00
Place = Klara mälarstrand close to Stadshusbron. MAP
    We will back @ Stockholm C = 25 July @ 15.33

But then Swede invited us to a BBQ on the 22 July.
So then the paddeling would start on the 23 July,

    The BBQ means :
We will leave Stockholm = 22 July
We will start paddling = 23 July (22 before)
We will be back at stockholm = 26 July (25 before)
I can do either, but I should know soon so I can plan the next leg of my trip. I would like to head to Amsterdam no later than the afternoon of the 27th. Anyone wanna come along???

Again I am hoping there is someone who organizes the canoe trip. BBQ at Swede's house sounds great.

I'm sure we can figure it out.

Just let us know what needs to be done. I guess:

    1) Someone has to be at the boat to guide all the dang foreigners to the right one? Not me, I'm driving directly to swede's house. Moski, I don't suppose you got time for that? I can probably make pickup in Mariefred though.

    2) Someone has to make reservations for canoes. I can do that over the phone. Gimme the numbers and other info.

    3) Swede, you got the barbeque covered? Need any help with that?

    4) Can you buy train tickets back to Stockholm on the train or did those need to be reserved as well? Didn't stick in my mind, since I'm driving south. Hank, I suppose you will be on that train, can you take care of that end?

    5) Anyone flying need stove fuel, let me know.

    6) What else?

Also, are Pat and I the only ones with our own inflatable canoes now? Dutch, are you renting a regular one or was Moski going to hook you up with an alpacka?

Because if everyone is in regular canoes, and Pat, you're not having the mega paddle vacation you first planned, it might just be easier if we all got regular canoes so everyone can keep the same pace.

Oh awesome,I was worried everyone was losing interest. Alpacka was inticing, but I don't know if there was one for me in tne first place. Canoe is available to rent and sounds like it is everyone's mode of transportation. I assume the BBQ is on. Is there a form of public transportation from the air port to Swede's. House and from the final portage back to the airport? Good chance I will need fuel and a small pocket knife.

Actually, I think the steam boat idea is awesome, as long as we can get you all on it. Especially for anyone international.

But if not, there are always buses and trains. I'll talk to Moski about this.

Ok, so from what I can gather from this thread:

Dutch and intheswim + 1 will fly here and land on the 21st. Pat and WEx +1 will fly here and land ???

Hank will be hung over on the train and meet up in Mariefred station.

    I will drive to Mariefred.

J.Andersons and Stormcrow still need to confirm.

That's 10 people, 5 canoes if everyone checks out. With Swede and his family, that's 14 people and 7 canoes.

Everyone flying meet up on July 22 at T - 30 at the boat docks, then kick back for a few hours. Me and Swede will pick you all up in Mariefred and shuttle you to the barbeque. The next morning we take a cab to the canoe place. Then we paddle like crazy for a few days before Hank takes everyone on the train back to Stockholm on July 26. (intheswim, I can drive you to Skavsta instead, if you guys don't want to go back north.) And at the Stockholm train station we scatter like leafs in the wind.

Nothing to it, Bob's your uncle.

EDIT: I see WEx +1 is also flying out of Skavsta. 4 people + gear is doable if you don't mind being a little cramped and having stuff on your lap. It's only a short trip, shouldn't take more than 30 minutes. Let me know if you need a ride.

    Hay guise!

Wow, the Curse is strong this year! Did not expect it to rob us of
our great trip leader! But that is how the curse works i guess...

Train tickets back to stockholm should not be a problem. We can
buy them at the train station. Or on the train ^^

But yes, im thinking that i might cancel the "Booze-Cruise" and focus
a bit more on this event... there will be plenty more cruises to party
on but not so many SKAHO events!

I live very close to STOCKHOLM-ARLANDA airport, so if needed i can
meet up with some of you guys on the 21st and guide you to wherever
you might be heading that day (Dont have a car though). And on the
22nd, meet up and take the Steamboat to Mariefred.

Does this sound agreeable with you guys?

    Phase 1 : Buy Hammock.
    Phase 2 : ... ... ...
    Phase 3 : Profit!

Near as I can tell there are regular trains to central station and the steamboat is a stones throw away from there. I will pm you as not to clutter the already cluttered thread.
