I want to hit Amsterdam for a couple days but besides that I am loking for some good suggestions. I concidered Switzerland but the logistics and travel time seem daunting. So I am thinking of staying north on this trip.

    Any ideas?
Well, I was blown away the first time I went up in the mountains in northern Sweden, but since you're already doing Sweden, what about the scottish highlands? Pretty much the same kind of scenery. Of course it means going to ground, with the total absence of trees.

I think I saw on the website somewhere that they pick up the canoe for you in Gnesta for SEK 500. You pretty much just call them and tell them where the canoe is, and they come get it.

Everything is so slow in this and other threads around here, so i'm starting to suspect we have a secret hang somewhere
I am trying to decide where I am flying home from. I think I will make it Amsterdam.

I'm coming with my inflatable canoe.

I can't take a second person with me in my canoe, there is not enough space for two pairs of adults' legs...
But if someone in a Alpacka wants to travel lighter, I can pick his/her backpack on my canoe during the trip on water.

I'm pretty sure you will find one or two paddling partners with you for renting a canoe. So you could also share the rent with the others. And paddling with partners makes the trip easier for every one.

    Cool with me.
Though best of all would be if we could rent solo canoes.
    That would be real cool.

You can rent a standard canoe, for up to two persons and their gear with another member with no canoe, and if you want to try a Alpacka of some "buddy" or if your want to try mine : it will be probably OK.

A canoe with a canoe single paddle is easier to paddle with a partner : Some one paddles at the right and the other at the left and so you keep a nice track, and go straight.

A (sea) kayak is more appropriate for a solo trip. Used with a kayak double paddle. You can rent a double kayak if you need more room for more gear, for a long trip.

I used a kayak paddle with my inflatable canoe (nearly transformed into a kayak)...

Yeah, I will rent a canoe, alone (with a kayak paddle) or with a buddy (using two single bladed paddles).
