Cuben takeover

Something else about those light green cuben sacks, I decided to test one's strength one day by holding it open with one hand and punching the bottom of it repeatedly with the other. I was beatin the crap out of it and never came close to ripping or unthreading anything.
You can grab it and do your best to tear it and it doesn't budge.

That's the lightweight stuff, so you know the heavy stuff is pretty much bomb proof.

Maybe they only rip when you DON'T want them to?

I would be more worried about sharp rocks or sticks or smaller sharp things...

I already have 1 hole from my fire and I was hanging 30' away.

I managed to put a 4" rip in a CT.6K08 stuff sack by overstuffing it, but I patched it with some DIY cuben tape and it's going strong. I like cuben stuff sacks because they're slippery enough to fit into my pack easily and because I can see the contents. Now that I know not to overstuff them, I plan to make some more out of CT.3K.08.

Awesome looking top quilt Traftonm! That thing looks sweet.

I've got a bunch of odd ball Cuben items, mainly stuff sacks for myself, though I just got my hands on some of the new WPB Cuben Fiber and it's pretty sweet. I'm using that to make fully seam taped rain mitts that weigh close to 10 grams (0.35oz) a pair.

Either way, I think Cuben is still the cutting edge for super ultralight weight gear and more will be incorporated into gear like Traftonm's quilt or like Tim's rad quilts he makes from CF.
