Hammock with ATTACHED under quilt ...

    Hangers ...

A few months ago, buddy Mule asked ... "Why don't you make a differential cut under quilt ATTACHED to a hammock?"

Being the gramMAN that I am, the creative juices started to stir ...

Long story short ... It's here and for sale. www.dphammockgear.com Hammock/Bug Net page

Wait'll you see what the dp HEETER HYBRID hammock/under-quilt weighs ...

FYI: Prices are up as we are in process of setting up with eBay and I'm sure you know, eBay wants their cut ...

So ... till October 1, 2011, 10% discount to anyone who mentions "Hammock Forums Discount Please" with their NON eBay order ...
FYI: Website isn't powerful enough to calculate the discount with your order, so I'll send a 10% refund check along with your dp gear.

    Happy Hanging this Fall ...

Is the insulation just sewn to the perimeter or is it quilted to the hammock body?

    DutchMAN,

The dp Heeter Hybrid is perimeter sewn for more than one reason over quilting.
    Thanks for asking.

Took a look at your sight and I'm most impressed hammock gear. Do you have a machine shop?

I made custom bicycle frames for 12 years nationally with a small manual shop. Shut down due to labor intensity and the major bicycle manufacturers starting producing models similar to what the public wanted. I'm thinking there is only a handful of custom frame builders left.

Also, my being of Dutch heritage, and I assume you are, does the saying "If ya' ain't Dutch, ya ain't much" hold any validity?

I thought about making an insulated hammock but it can be tricky with making sure the insulation tight to the bottom. That is why I asked if it was quilted. However that can be just as tricky. Actually I don't think it would work on a gathered end hammock. Things kind of need to move. I think it is a good idea.

Actually i am Pennsylvania "Dutch". Which is really German heritige. When they migrated here from Germany and were asked where they were from they replied Deutsch and it was interpretted as Dutch. I am only a machinist by hobby. Mostly just to make gear.

Very cool gear! I may have to try out some of your hammocks. I like the no-stretch hammock body myself.

I also noticed your bug net -- reminds me of the HUG design, with some modifications. It think it's a great design, personally

Your Tarp End Doors might come in handy for some guys with tarps without doors. They remind me of the ingenious invention of the Grizz Beak and the Grizz Beak v2.

Panda posted by BF: cheaper, but heavier (4.6 lbs. )
Heeter Hybrid from dp: 18 oz, cottage industry

I'd like to see a good comparative review of both.

    Attached Under Quilts

    Hangers,

WV ''THANK YOU'' for sharing the weight difference with the Panda Hammock/Under Quilt that BF mentions and the dp Heeter Hybrid Hammock.

For some, weight isn't a concern, but for any hiker who puts in the miles, weight will be on their mind, I'm sure.

I"m sure one will Always be able to find a less expensive similar product. But when one compares Features and Benefits the trade offs become apparent.

Two items I noticed with my assessment of the Panda ... Most glaring was it is packed with mostly cotton. And we ALL know wet cotton can kill us with hypothermia.

Next I noticed in Panda's ad, the under quilt end wasn't snugged against the hammock. Hello cold air?

dp gear isn't perfect, but please remember our focus ...
    1) Reliable 2) Light weight 3) Low cost
And in that order is our sub focus.

FYI: Forum Members: PLEASE be sure to ask for your forum discount from now to the end of next month, September.

If you do not mention, Hammock Forums Discount Please, we cannot allow the 10% off because many of our orders are not from the Forum.

Thank you for your interest in www.dphammockgear.com

We are nearing our first anniversary and we promise to be around a LONG time.
