Stop the Flop Video using Smart Outdoors Tarp Cross

One of the things I've found on the DIY gathered end hammocks is that as comfortable as I find them, if I happen to stretch on the diagonal a little too much my feet will flop over the edge. It's quite the jolt if your sleeping. So I made a double layer 1.5 and decided to do a quick modification to it. Nothing complicated, but I found it to be pretty effective. I put a couple of grosgrain tabs on the sides to hold the side up and rigged some lash-it with a Smart Outdoor Tarp Cross. Did a quick video of it. Nothing fancy.

No problem... to embed you go to your video on youtube and copy everything after the "=" in the web address and then put the youtube brackets around it which can be found on the menu bar when you reply or set up a post. This feature is not found on the quick reply menu.

Tested out my DIY DL Sunday night and had this problem. Flipping the whole hammock upside down had a better lay but I could still use this for my trip next week. I'll have to rig it up this weekend.

Good solution. The Tarp Crosses are a nicer alternative than mini-biners.

Using bungee cord instead of rope helps limit the risk of accidental tearing at the tabs.

That would definitely work too. I honestly do not move much when I sleep, so the give in the ridgeline is plenty of movement for me.
