    Pisgah Day Hike

I didn't have a lot of work to do today, so I headed to the forest to clear my head. We're blessed with a lot of good head-clearin' spots around here, but I finally decided on Slate Rock. It's a short loop, only 4-5 miles, but it has some pretty steep climbing, and great views. I've seen three ENOs at one time up on the rock, and I hope to hang up there one night this fall. IMO, this is the best view in the Pisgah Ranger District.

Great pics. Yep, that would be some prime head-clearing territory right there; my head is clearer just looking at it! Let us know how it goes when you get to hang overnight. Thanks.

    Beautiful pics...just beautiful.
I love the Brevard area. I've camped a good bit at Cove Creek and Kuykendall over the years.

Definitely looks like a cool place to hang. Just make sure you put you tarp where it will block the wind.. Brrrrr

Yeah that whole area is fantastic!!! RF & I have hiked Pisgah area alot and there's STILL yet so much to see.
Let us know if you want some company when you go hangin' this fall. There's quite a few HF members that live close by Pisgah.
