yeah, the rectangle should work fine. i use a rectangle DAM from exped, but i got a mummy shaped insulated BA to save a little weight & room.
both seem to work fine.

I'm gearing up for motorcycle camping .... had you ever been over to advrider.com?
I've got a thread here about hammock camping on motorcycles:
http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=331069
I know the backpackers try to shave off ounces here and there, I'm trying to shave off pounds .....
I used a big agnes insulated air core, along with one of their bags. I find it works best if I fully inflate it, get in my hammock and get the apparatus all centered, then let out between 1/4 and 1/2 of the air in it. With it fully inflated it does a great job combating shoulder squeeze and it makes sure you lay flat. But I will go ahead and admit something about it fully inflated is uncomfortable.
I finally got to try out the insulated air corps the other day. The temps were in the low thirties and it was partially inflated. It kept my bottom completely warm with no condensation issues. The tops of my arms have been getting cold but I'm sure that's from my twenty year old 20 degree bag that's remained in it's stuff sack for the duration of it's life. I'm way overdue for a new bag that will keep me warm into the twenties. I'd consider myself a cold sleeper.....any suggestions? I've been eyeballing the Mountain Hardwear Thermic Micro bags but have also been thinking about down. I'm also thinking that being in a drafty hammock might warrant getting a lower temp rated bag than would normally be considered for an enclosed tent. Zero degree perhaps?Any opinions?

Spidennis,
I'm RAW over at ADVrider too.
You traded posts with me in the earlier hammocking thread over there.
Remember, I was hanging from my shop's hoist frame.
It's funny: I'll be headed over to HotSprings, NC for a hammocker gathering in a couple of weeks.
And then the ADVrider Eastern Rendezvous is at HotSprings a few weeks later.
I'll be on the bike and in the hammock both weekends.
BTW, watch your language over here. I got a post edited just cuz it included an anatomical reference. Seriously. But I'll play by the rules.
Raw, now I'm putting it together! Yeah, saw your setup, cool .... or brisk, or down right chilly in that garage! My cold weather testing season is over down here, I just hope I'm set enough for what's in store for me when I head north in a couple of weeks! .... and if it works into my travels, I might even stop by on either of those events in NC, who know? a lot can happen on my ride from tx to nj (and back) ...... see you hanging around sometime ...... dennis
ps: just ordered some figure 9 stuff ....
and I a stern talk to by a mod at advrider ....
seems some of my spring break pics got me in trouble!
but most are still there in ride reports .....
That BA pad should work well with a Speer Segmented Pad Extender.
BTW, the Big Agnes Zirkel (regular length) and dual-core mummy pad (regular length) would weigh in at just under 4#.
That's a significant difference between my long length encampment plus long dual-core pad (6.25#).
Enough of a difference in weight and packed size and fit in my hammock . . . that I'm considering making the jump and selling my bigger gear to someone else.

I just picked up a deal at steepandcheap, 89 bucks for a BA Nugget, (already sold out) but it's for a Rectangular pad. Will a mummy pad fit in it? and would that combo fit alright or better in my eno? .... or should I just get the 20" Rectangular pad that it's supposed to use?

I saw the hammock pic in the banner below for overstock.com. Is that an eno?
