Hi I am interested in overnight hiking and have been researching all the lightweight options. I have a Byer Miskito Hammock I purchased about 7 years ago that my then 12 yr old son slept in over night, with a tarp, through a terrible storm and came through dry and snug. I have never slept overnight in a hammock but it seems the most lightweight way to overnight hike. I don't like the idea of sleeping on the ground unless I'm in a tent and the lightweight tent options are super expensive and at the same time flimsy. I have been looking all through the forum and am impressed with all the valuable information here and the ingenuity you are so willing to share. I am hoping to be able to make my own hammock and fly. I live in the panhandle of Florida and am a member of the Florida Trails Association. Anyone else?

Happy Trails,
