    Tarp Tent

Hey guys. I am just about finished with my tarp tent and I figured I'd post some pics of it. I know you are all hangers but perhaps as a DIYer this a project you would like to tackle. Maybe like me, you have someone with you who prefers the tent and want a lightweight homemade option.

All I have left to do is to put the zipper in the front door, make beaks, and put velcro on the appropriate locations of the netting to allow it to attach into my ground cloth.

    Check it out...

    I used these plans.

Looks like it will work as a hammock tarp too.

Nice. I have thought about messing around with one.

    tarptent,,,,,

Yeah it looks like you might use it for a tarp also, thats what I had in mind when I made my tarp for the hammock. If I had to I could configure it as a tarptent in an emergency.

Ya, I just dont know how it would work with the no see um making the ends a bit more rigid and difficult to maneuver above ground.

I actually went and used a heavier sil since it would be in contact with the ground. The whole tent probably will weigh in around 2.5lb. Pretty light and packs nicely. It can easily fit two.

I was wondering, is there any kind of adhesive I could use to attach velcro patches to connect two parts together? This would be a lot easier than sewing velcro into no see um. I guess super glue would probably hold it, anyone have experience with any type in particular?
