    Hang out setup

I am looking to set up two poles in the back yard... I have two options with little cash difference...

Option One... is 2 3/8 oil field pipe, ten foot long buried 2.5-3 feet 15 feet apart... 1.5-2 bags of concrete in each hole...

Option two... 3 2x4x10 two screwed and glued together with the four inch side together and then the third one screwed and glued perpendicular to those two on the end... 2.5-3 foot deep, 15 feet apart, 1.5-2 bags of concrete per hole...

The wood is about $10 cheaper when its all said and done... But either way I'm sure it will out last any hammock needs for the next few years...

Which would you chose and why???

Originally I was going to sink a few poles in the ground, but in the end decided to make a stand I could move around. Personally I like moving my stand around the yard for a variety of reasons. It's nice to change it for wind direction, and sometimes I like scooting my stand up by the fire pit. I built a stand for about $40-$50.

If it was me I would use the drill stem.

I'd say if you don't want to build a movable stand, then use the oil field pipe. But I'd suggest picking up a 3rd one so you can setup a triangle to give you more hanging options to deal with the wind and weather when you want to hang.

I'd go with the steel pipe but set them in PVC casings so I could remove them when not needed and store away.

Assuming that the stand I am looking at will hold my DIY hammock as far as length... I will build a stand... If not I love the triangle idea... The pipe comes in 30' joints so I will have the pipe anyways...
