camping blanket

hey guys and dolls,

much of the time i prefer to cover with a light blanket, sans bag. my old standby is a garment of unknown origin and is drawing its last breath, and my girlfriend is threatening to burn it if i don't upgrade.

without having to search the net forever, what are some good choices? i'd like a synthetic fabric if possible, not terribly thick or terribly wide. friendly wool would also do. those overgrown beach towels is a good visual reference for the size.

any ideas? i'd do the leg work but i've been in court all day.

i use fleece. check out a local fabric shop for a bolt of fleece or something similar. with a little edge treatment you're in business.

thats a good idea. i'll look into doing that. the "throw" type i see are usually too small.

the coolmax stuff looks doable. might try that too.

+1 to Rev on the poncho liner, I use one myself in warm to cool night temps, feels aweful soft on the toes also.

HA! "Sans" is French for "withOUT"! Does that clear it up for you?

Military poncho liner. I've used them for years as a year round covering. Warm in the winter, cool in the summer. Put a sheet on top of it in the winter when the wife was huddled under 2 blankets and was fine.
