Just ordered HH Hex tarp, what else do I need?

Just ordered the HH Hex TARP, for my trip next week. Does anyone know what is included with it as far as lines and what I will need to pickup? The website just shows a picture without much info.

I am guessing probably stakes and Knot bones?

    Thanks

It has been quite a few years since I ordered my

Hex, but as I recall HH supplies guylines made of very light line. I did not personally like the thin line, so I replaced it with Kelty Triptease. YMMV.

I use a bigger tarp with my HH, just because I like more roof over my head than their's supplies

bottom insulation assuming you have a sleeping bag. Fastest and cheapest is two CCF pads cut one to fit crosswise at your shoulders, the other as required.

My last one came with tree huggers but you might want to have alternate straps in case yours did not. Optional would be better suspension. Heaviest but easiest is 4 climbing grade carabiners. Put two through a tree hugger and do a garda hitch through them.

Sorry for the confusion, I ordered the Hex Tarp not a full hammock.

It kind of depends on how you like to hang your tarp.

Some people like to use a seperate ridgeline for the tarp, and then tension the tarp from the ends to the ridgeline. In that case, you may want to have some additional line to make a ridgeline and some connectors from the tarp to the ridgeline to adjust your tension with.

Or...you can use something like Fig 9s and the existing light lines that come off the ends to tie directly to the trees. (I do a hybrid...I use some seperate line attached to the plastic d-ring on each end of the tarp, and then tension these via Fig 9s out to the trees)

You'll also want four stakes to attach the edges of the tarp to the ground. There are tie outs there already, but you can use your own line if you find that those lines are too thin or weak (I use the stock ones that came with my tarp, and have had no issues with them so far).

    What You NEED...

...is a set of stakes. Four of 'em, to be precise.

What I WANT (and already have), on the other hand, is a continuous ridgeline (I used the clips from the hammock suspension to attach the tarp to it with kleimheist knots), shock cord tensioners tied into the guylines, a mini 'biner to attach the CRL to the tree at one end, and a trail twig cow hitched into the line to use as a tensioner at the other end.

    But that's just me...
