Wow, so far!
Wow, so far!
Hey all it was fun sorry we were only able to do one night. already regretting missing dinner tonight...
Hey all, just wanted to post up a friendly warning..break out the permethrin treated clothes.
we just got back and cleaned up. Brit had about 5 ticks on her and I had over a dozen.
most were those micro ticks. Had a few larger ones...well if you remember the leech scene from stand by me... not a great surprise...
My family had an awesome time! I am so bummed we couldn't stay over night. I am blown away by how friendly this group of people is. Thank you to all that worked to plan and put on this hang. Thank you to the cooks who made me feel warm inside. Thanks Old Dog and Cakes for my new kit.
And thanks to all the vendors and individuals who donated to the raffle.
I love this place!!!
Look up before you hook up!!

Our family had a great time and I am still debating whether I can go back now or not. Only a little over an hour from my house. It was very cold away from the fire and will be in mid to low 30's later. That is coooold for us Floridians.
itsandy, I hope you have pictures of your "setup". My son loves those little lites. As we left, the kids said it looked like a ufo. It kind of did to me, also.

Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you
12:30 am Sunday morning. It's cold but what's worse is the darn hunting dogs after something for the past hour keeping me up. Here is a photo of mt home for the weekend.
Having a great time other then the COLDDDDD and dogs.
Almost 5 am Sunday temp is 28 degrees according to the weather channel. MY FEET ARE FREEZING!!!!
Time for some "flamethrower" booties, dogs finally shut up at 1;45am
I'm cold
The dogs are everywhere.
I decided to stay home and did the sleeping bag burrito thing around my hammock in the back yard with my jacket around the head part. Had my wife's workout pad under me with a small quilt over. Was warm most of the night even with frost on my bag since around 2am.
The dogs, near and far at different times thru most of the night, were trying to "sing" me to sleep. Couldn't take it anymore at 6:30 am when the first light woke the neighbors dog and came in.
I want to go back with all of you at Buck lake and will try tonight.

Its always a great weekend when you come home with more than you left with.
Not sure if I gained more weight from the awesome food, or more weight from the very generous gifts that were supplied for the raffle.
It was great to see some familiar faces, along with meeting new Hammock Family.
To many names to mention for thanks that made this not only possible but amazing fun.
Thanks to all.
AKA Coconut Pete
My son & I had a blast.
Thanks to everybody that made this happen.
Special thanks to Old Dog.
The time & gifts you gave to the young hammockers made my sons hang.
