As we get closer we will want to coordinate the heavy battalions and the light troops. We will rapidly find that parking will be a bit of a premium. As much as we can we should work to ensure close-in spots for those who will be loaded down with primo gear and those of us who ditched the frying pan lid of their titanium pot as it was too bulky (guilty!) can work to leave the core area open. I am still pretty optimistic that we will have space for all the cars, but, we should be aware that this is a potential issue.

There are two other members here in Palm Beach County and I am planning to ask if they want to ride with me.

If other folks could carpool from other counties that would help with parking and lower our carbon footprint.

There is also room for about a dozen vehicles at the FST trail head parking area about 1 mi. south of the Buck Lake entrance road. It's about 2-1/4 mi. to the east side of the loop trail that goes around Buck Lake (2.8 mi. to the west side of the loop trail). From the east side of the loop trail, it's close to a mile to the center of the group camp area. Plenty of trees along the way!

Phew! I feel a lot better now knowing that it's not the other CIA. Although I was sort of looking forward to seeing some cool spy cooking gadgets like the .22 caliber silenced spatula and the grappling hook fork.

Is there a main parking area for Buck Lake? Can someone post a map with the parking area marked?

    Thanks,
    Ray

Hope this helps. The camping/parking areas actually overlap but I marked it differently. Basically we were parking along the road and hanging right next to the vehicle. Or off the vehicle in some cases. There's a large area off the map to the right where a number of folks landed last year.

    Thanks Jax.
Does the road get softer as you go along the lake?
The reason I ask is, the folks with 4 wheel drives could maybe use those spots.
And save the better packed road & parking up front for the cars & bikes.
    Just a thought.

    Is there a snoring section?
