I remember last year in getting to the SORUCK I had to snowshoe a mile to get to my car from the house.
Even if it is in the 40s it will feel great

OK - got a request (for work - for days off) in for that weekend. January looks like a busy month for this old Scout - OA Winter Fellowship the first weekend, Florida Hang the second weekend, and the troop campout the following weekend - the Hennessy will get a workout!

Hopefully the requests will be approved.

Let me know what to bring, if anything - willing to contribute to cooking, meals, or whatever.

I have a request also. I'm making up some trinkets for the kids and would like a head count of how many youngsters will be attending, I want to make sure I have enough. Please PM me if you will have children coming. Thanks, olddog. PS, this does not include us old kids.

I will have my 11 year old daughter and 15 year old son-not sure of age group you are thinking, as son is more adult (in his mind) ya know!

How great is this to see so much excitement over FH2? I am so excited about this years hang!

With so many of us, I'm really glad I bought that camp kitchen earlier this year. It was handy at the Grayson Highlands Fall Festival Hang and I'm sure it will get plenty of use at the Florida Hang too.

On a side note, if you have received a PM from me, it's because you put your name on the attendee list. I've sent a PM to everyone attending for the purpose of gathering funds for the event.

Mine too! Really looking forward to it - have camped at Buck Lake before with my troop and it's a beautiful location!

Been moving towards more minimalist style - though I'll never be a 'gram weenie' - but I can bring a Dutch oven or 2 and some recipes if y'all want.

With any luck, I might even have some venison - but I make no promises!

Otherwise I'll jes' Jetboil and stay light
