For the first time ever, my better half, KC, has decided (insisted) she is coming on a hang. Her first night in a hammock will be Saturday night at Buck Lake. I have generously offered up my WBBB for her snoozing pleasure, and I will be hanging in my ancient Speer. WHooobuddy!!!

I totally agree and do practice safe food storage.

But, the date of the alert is from Jan last year.
Do they not update the alerts or are they just still in effect until taken down?

fwiw I've only seen one bear in Ocala in the several times I've hiked it. I just store my food near someone else's hammock.

i will not be attending on sunday the 15th. I was in a pretty severe motorcycle accident on the 3rd and broke my collar bone clean in half.

Been there, done that. Got the same tee shirt. Now I have three collar bones. Glad you were "thrown." It's usually worse otherwise. Wishing you a speedy recovery! Sorry you're gonna miss FH2. Get well for the next one.

Just to let everyone know, there's been a bit of confusion with the raffle that Gumbo is putting on, and the giveaway that I'm putting together. 2 seperate events, no tickets needed for mine, I'm using the online attendance sheet that Gumbo put together, but I'll be adding people at Buck Lake, if they didn't sign in that way. So far, I have items made from Smokeeater908, Adam & Jenny from Hammockgear, Warbonnetguy, Dutch, and more. Thinking about holding it either Friday or Saturday night, whichever has the most people.
