    Strap stretch or trees moving??

I swapped out all the old suspension on my hammocks for Arrowhead straps and rings and I like the ease and speed of setup but, ether the straps have some stretch that I was not figuring on or the trees I am using, and some of them are BIG, are moving closer together as I sleep. I always tie a safety to prevent the webbing from slipping in the rings but I never find my self with the same lay I went to sleep with. Is there anyone out there that has also run into these sneaky trees out there and if so can you tell me how can I spot them quickly and easily avoid them. Or should I be looking at the straps as the culprits?
Whether trail or paddle don't you know
My hammock is the way to go
There peace and solitude I find
To ease all troubles from my mind
Both body and soul revel in delight
As day surrenders to inky night

this only ever happens to me in palm trees, or if I hang from a branch growing vertically.
Every time I hang in a tree I get a coconut to the head.....stupid coconuts

I have Arrowhead straps and no stretch problems. I wouldn't expect straps to stretch much after a couple hangs, regardless of the material.

There aren't too many variables: the straps stretching (or slipping), the way they are fixed (the rings), the hammock fabric stretching, or the trees. I don't know you, so I can't factor in imagination or what you were drinking at bedtime

    How much does it change?
