    New from Okinawa, Japan

    Hey everyone, I'm stationed here in the AF and have been reading a lot of your great posts. I'm happy to be on here now and a part of the community that loves what they do.

    I have hung a few times before I moved here and hang at work on long flights(in the back of a C-130). I hammock camped last weekend on the beach but was a little unfulfilled. It was really nice and all but was missing something. Guess I'm used to and miss the good ol piney woods and hiking up mountains! So, I am spending my time on the island here improving my setup and learning from everyone here. Spent some serious dough so far, but i love thinking about and planning my next adventure! My tent is now going in a box in the back bedroom. you guys rock!

    I spent 2 years on Oki. Hiji falls is an excellent hike/hammock hang spot!
