Got bored today and made a stand out of conduit and fence rail
Very clean look...is it tested sturdy?
Hang it high and God Bless!!

I'd love to see more details on this. What size conduit? Dimensions? How are the parts connected?
Nice! What's the packed dimensions and weight?

The top rail is a 10'6" fence rail cut in half and joined.
The legs on each side are one 3/4" and one 1/2" conduit, both at 5'
Packed length is 5'3"
16 pounds
It definitely could use some refining but it holds good enough for an afternoon nap

I really like this. I made a TurtleLady stand, which works really well. Your idea might get me experimenting with some changes.
i made mine yesterday...and tried it last night. It may be taller than some of the others (the stands are 7') and longer too (the pole is 14'), but as I need this next weekend I didnt want to take the chance on anything being too small.
I clipped biners into the ends of the pole and just hooked the whoopie slings on my hennessy into them. This makes it really easy to adjust the hammock to the right position for comfortable sleeping as well it will allow me to drop closer to the ground if I use it in the winter.
This stand is awesome. It was really easy to build, simple to set up and best of all it means that I dont have to sleep on the ground next weekend
I couldn't use yours, I'd slip out of the end of my hammock!
