    VIDEO: Maddie's Version

Here's Maddie's version of her 10th birthday trip. She did it all herself, including holding the camera, so FAIR WARNING: If you have a history of vertigo, you may want to be careful watching this video. If not, having an air-sickness bag nearby may still be a good idea...

This is the video Maddie shot during her 10th Birthday Backpacking Trip (one year ago). She did all the video and photography, editing, and publishing, with only technical help (and a bit of advice) from me. I think she did a great job for her first video. What's really fun about this is to see the trip through her eyes. I hope you enjoy watching this as much as we did making it.

"I fish because I love to; because I love the environs where trout are found, which are invariably beautiful... because, in a world where most men seem to spend their lives doing things they hate, my fishing is at once an endless source of delight and an act of small rebellion; because trout do not lie or cheat and cannot be bought or bribed or impressed by power, but respond only to quietude and humility and endless patience...." --Robert Traver

Great job on the video Maddie! It is always interesting to see a 10 yr old point of view. Loved the comments about the alky stove turning into a flower and how great the fire was the night before.

I thought you did an excellent job with the camera and putting the video together.

If you ever want to go hiking in Middle TN I bet 2sticks would love to have another 10yr old girl to hike with. Not sure if the Dads could keep up

Very well done Maddie. It was awesome to see some father daughter time. Especially from the daughter's point of view. May you and you dad have a lot of great trips together.

WONDERFUL job, Maddie! We look forward to more videos from your travels in the woods! (Dad, she needs her own camera, methinks!) Getting a completely different perspective on a hike was a great thing! THANKS!
