im now on part 3 of shugs. Funny stuff, very informative too! Chances that i'll ever go winter camping soon are slim but still good stuff so far!
Seems that my bag and mat will do for summer camping.

Just a small update. I ordered the DD Frontline with sleeve and tarp. Total of €100.10.
Got a overnight weekend on the 17th at the terrain of our scouting club, or however its called in english. Should be good starting point and i can always retreat to the large tent

I think you'll be happy with the Frontline, I've got one myself.

It might be a good idea to get another cheap foam pad and cut it off and use it across the shoulders, in combination with the pad arranged length-wise. I've used a 55 cm wide foam pad in a Frontline and think someting wider across the shoulders would have been better (for me).

You might also want to look at the SPE or Segmented Pad Extender for some insight into keeping warm. Pads are relatively narrow so the hammock walls can be cold spots if you touch them. A thin closed cell foam bad cut down and cross wise will give you better insulation around your shoulders and trunk. An under quilt does the same thing better at much higher cost.

    Good choice.

Hopefully, Nick gets that thing to you in a hurry. You've only got a couple of weeks before your trip and you've already stated you're just getting started with this method of camping. This means you need some practice! Seriously, a couple of days spent setting-up/napping/taking-down will go a long ways once you're out in the wilds. Hanging is really pretty easy, but there are a handful of tricks that make life much easier and the best way to acquire those is simple practice.

No matter the details, congrats on your first hammock!
    Trust nobody!

My hammock and tarp arived last friday! Didnt have time to figure it all out though. With a little luck i get to fiddle with it this week.
I did refold/restuff both to about 60% its original packed size The webbing on the Frontline seems very cumbersome.

From reading here and there whoopie slings look like a great idea.
f it all works out i might go this route; Webbing>dutch clip>whoopie>biner>hammock.
