Cool. So, how are the roads in? Dirt, gravel, loose gravel? Trying to decide whether to take the bike or the car.

Or, perhaps somebody wants to carpool from Portland?

After talking with Turtlelady, if we can have a small campfire its preferred.
Otherwise soon as the sun falls, socializing kinda dies.
Being that its CAR camping we can bring cleaner burning wood in.

Of the sites Silverlion and I looked at today.. Gales Creek Campground is the best Option. And there low costing. Im willing to cover 4 sites.
That will cover 4 cars as well. After that its $2 a car. (Not horrible)

Unless anyone else knows of any other sites out there?

I'll see what I can do about bringing extra gear up to try and "save" a few sites. I'm trying to get a hold of the camp manager to see if we can reserve a few. I know it says FC/FS, but hopefully arrangements can be made. It would help if we got an actual head count for the weekend so I know how many people to tell him are coming.

I appreciate the efforts of the scouting team today. Silverlion, thanks for your willingness to arrive early and try to claim spots enough. There will be two in my party. My daughter will be ground dwelling except for lounging.

If anyone has an extra "senior sensible" camp chair they could bring to share, I would be grateful.

We will leave Portland mid-afternoon. We would prefer not to carpool but could meet and travel in convoy.

OK, count me in for the 17th to the 18th. I have a vehicle (Jeep Cherokee) and am willing to carpool anyone who needs a ride. PM me to work out arrangements. Can also bring reserve supplies as needed.

The name of the campground is Gales Creek Campground. If you hit the turn off to Brown's camp, you have gone too far(coming from Portland). It's a turn off to the right before the scenic overlook before BC turn off. I googled gales creek campground and it gave me 2 locations. The one out by the coast isn't it in case you googled it.
