I'm working on a hammocking DIY "class" for our Boy Scout troop. To keep costs down, it turns out that DIY whoopie slings are cheaper and more effective than any other suspension. The MSH is not a big hurdle, but many people remember how to use a clip or device better than they do a knot. (Even a knot as simple as the MSH.) SO: I'm interested! Especially if the price comes in at-or-around the $5-$6 mark, which makes this equivalent to a climbing-rated carabiner, which is my other alternative to an MSH. Anything less than $5 makes this a winner, sight unseen!

That is funny. My favorite line is...
Finally, you need a Titanium Straw because it is awesome. And you are awesome, too - the perfect match!
I wonder how many they really sell. I did play around with ti tubing for toggles, but you don't really need the strength if you do the MSH right.

dutch im building a chopper when money allows, and i thought of you last night when fitting wheels on. i need spacers and axles and thought "wow, it would be awesome if i could get these in Ti...hmmm"

just an opinion, how feasible is a titanium axle? basically a long bolt.

Nice garage. I would wonder why you would want it in TI. Basically it would be pretty tough and I don't think I would be the person to do it. You can get Ti rod and turn it down to the diameter you need.

I stop using the marlin spike a couple months ago. It was great for me cause I know how to tie and hang off it. I am getting a 3 new hangers into this and I find the spike has a tendency to fall out the whoopie when exiting the hammock or when no weight is in. I switched to Dutch Biners. A new device would be much much much much appreciated.
