Bitten by the bug, not hanging yet

Hi, my name is Dennis and just like Bas I am from the Netherlands.
Well, I was born and raised there, but by now I'm sufficiently yankee-fied by having lived in the US for 15 years and having obtained my citizenship here.

I don't know what you guys put in my orange juice, but this forum is getting me hooked on hammocks, even though I have virtually no time to hike or camp, or had any exposure to hammocks before.
Hey, after I spend a boatload of money and time on hanging, do I get to blame it all on the members of this forum? That would be awesome.

My excuse for not having much time to go camping is a job, a wife with an even busier job and a Masters study on top of that, and 3 absolutely lovely children ages 3, 10 and 12.
My solution is to get a hammock setup anyway and go hang in the backyard, just to get acquainted with hammocking.

What's up Pretbek?! Sounds like a plan - a backyard hang is still out. Welcome to the HF from Canada!

    Welcome!!

The backyard is a perfect place to start out
    and to test new gear.

You should also consider coming to a "hang" where you can meet others on the forum and check out the different hammocks, etc.

MAHHA is not too far for you:

Welcome aboard from Florida. You can enjoy your hammock every night inside.

Welcome to HF from TN. Sounds like you will fit right in, so you will just have to take part of the blame on yourself. Better get into the DYI section and learn how to make a few hammocks for them youngins, they will love them also

Welcome to the forum! Be careful with that bite. I won't heal. I hang in the backyard more than I do anywhere else.

Welcome to HF from Bama.........If you feel the need to blame me for your possible addiction, I will have to tell you to get in line!!!!!!! You will be somewhere around number 8 in line, behind my daughter, signifigant other, friends and several co-workers. Be careful, once the kids see how relaxed you are they will want their own hammocks!!!!

Welcome citizen, starting in the backyard could get the wife hooked or at least a couple of the kids on you side. They can be quite persuasive. And YES you can blame all of us at HF, what do you think we all due? Good luck and hope your hanging soon.
