what length do you prefer? full, 2/3, 3/4?

so im fighting with myself on this. now that i have the idea of the UQ in my head, im having a hard time picking between lengths.

i know youll save weight with the shorter ones, but heres what im figuring

    35* temps

must be able to use all year, i can own only 1 (aside from PLUQ, but im not factoring that)

i usually wont carry spare stuff just to keep my feet warm, aside from a pair of socks.

will be used with an ENO and WBBBBBB

weight isnt too much an issue

from floor to top of my shoulder, im about 62"

and this is for only the length, not material.

can anyone help with some insight? if you could only have 1, with the above specs, what length and why?
    thanks all

    I have 2 good UQs.

One is a winter quilt (20°F) and is full length. I have taken it down to 21° and was cool but slept through the night ( I am a native Floridian and can freeze to death at room temperature ).

The other is a KAQ Jarbridge River, which is a 7/8 length quilt. That is to say it is longer than a 3/4 and about 10" shorter than a full length. This is my summer quilt, and I decided upon he shorter length because it will still keep me warm, but not be too much. I also had it custom made with 3 oz Climashield to save weight (7-8 months of the year, I camp in WX over 40°F). I love down, but went with the synthetic as I live in a very humid area. This is a compromise quilt, in every regard: length, insulation value and type. I bought this back in April and since then I have about 18 nights with it. It was a good choice for the seasons I will use it.

My choice would be the coldest rated quilt you can afford in full-length.

I've had my winter Incubator down to -2 comfortably and up to the 70's (fully ventilated) equally comfortably.

I am 6'2'' and most "partial" UQs left a small gap at the back of my knees between the UQ and the footpad.

Just a limitation of being on the tall side and carrying a smallish footpad.

I decided to go full-length for the no fuss approach - vent if it's too warm, cinch up if it gets colder. Sure it's a bit heavier, but I don't have to worry about it.

    YMMV

    I like a 1/2 to 2/3 UQ with footpad.

I have both 3/4 and full length. I like the 3/4 for when I know I need to travel real light. When the weather is pretty stable and I know will be warm and i deal with the fussing. All other times (and even sometimes the times above) I will use my full length. Nothing like full length downy goodness!

I'm a side sleeper and I move around a lot. So I'm Full Length all the way. Plus I had Scarecrow make my Incubator 4" wider to accommodate the fact that I'm on my side and either my butt or my shoulder/head pop past most quilts.

I really want something smaller to save space and weight, but I wouldn't be as comfortable.

I don't know what the Yetis call themselves (2/3 or 3/4), but that's about all I ever use. I've got a Tewa quilt that's really nice too, but it doesn't see quite as much action as my Yetis. For me, that's all I need and can't understand carrying a bunch of extra weight that isn't of any personal benefit.

I really like the length of the 3/4 phoenix. I like the full length incubator for car camping when when packing in a pack I go 3/4. I find it to be the perfect length for me at 6' 10". The foot box keeps my feet warm enough in warmer months that I don't need a pad underneath my feet.

    Rev,
I'm in the same boat as you.
What are the ballpark definitions of length for Full, 3/4, 2/3?

BTW, I have never even seen an UQ in person, but I think I want one 55" long and 45" wide.

There is no standard but if you use 72" for a full length then you have

    1/2 36"

    2/3 48"

    3/4 54"

IMO there is not much of a difference in the 2/3 and 3/4 since you will need a pad with both. I use a 2/3 and have been fine at 2*
