    About to Purchase First Hammock

    Hello Everyone,
I am new to this forum, and about to purchase my first hammock. Over the past few weeks, I have been reading threads and watching the videos. Based on what I have read, and my size (6'2", ~245 lbs), I think that the Clark NX-250 Hammock may be the best choice for me. However, I am sure there may be other hammocks that would accommodate me and still provide a comparable level of comfort.

Also, are there any other considerations (beyond comfort, price, ease of set-up, weight) that I should be aware of before purchasing a hammock.
Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I would take a good look at warbonnet hammock. Possibly the 1.7 DBL for you. Its a great hammock, very flat lay and very comfortable.
Sometimes I like to hike and think, And sometimes I just like to hike.

Hiking is'ent about waiting for the storm to pass its about learning to hike in the rain.

    + 1 on that advice.

Not that there's anything wrong at all with the Clark, but the Blackbird is not only a great choice but the resale on it is great in case you try it and don't like it.

In fact, there is a fair price on a Double 1.7 for sale on the forums now but I bet it won't last long. These things usually sell within the first few minutes after posting, a couple of hours at the most.

+2 on the Warbonnet, you would have much better luck reselling should you not like it...which is highly unlikely

Hello and welcome! Unfortunately comfort in hammocks is a personal thing. Despite that, the Warbonnet Blackbird is possibly the most popular and well recommended hammock around here. Tree to Trail Gear's Switchbacks are great as well. Hennessy's are also well regarded. Yeah, I know I'm not being very helpful.

Hello and welcome to HF. There are a lot of good choices out there. Clark dose look cool and have a lot features, a bit pricey but there a complete system. warbonet seems to be the hammock of choice for the hard core guys. Like the templer Knight in the last crusade said "chose wisely". GOOD LUCK!
