Your right, the ruins is east of 446 and South of the cause way.....
I'll be coming into Bloomington on SR46w from Nashville, IN

turn right onto 446s (Knightridge Rd) at the first light.
About 5 miles past the causway,
Turn left onto Tower Ridge Rd.
Turn left onto Axsom Branch Rd.
    Turn Left onto Axson Rd.

According to google the road dead ends about 1200ft from your campsite coordinates and it's about 400ft from a isolated cove on Monroe Reservoir.

    Can you confirm?

Sounds right on. The last two (roads) Axsom Branch are, #3 The parking lot for the trail head, and #4 part of the trail, and not open of course to vehicular travel.

    This is ACME Mapper.

The HF hang site is west of Terrill Cemetery.

ACME is a nice tool. Go ahead. Zoom in and you should be right there.

WOW! Looks like this thing has taken on a life of it's own. I'm going to do my best to throw my hat into the "new guy" gang and try to make it. Hopefully, I can get something thrown together for a hammock between now and then, other wise I may end up being one of those ground dwellers you're going to be laughing at.

FWTW: If anyone wants to attend and is apprehensive about the hike in, I would be more than happy to pack in anyone's extra gear if that is the difference between them going and not, I'd be happy to help.

Unless I missed it somewhere in the posting, I can also bring a spit that will hoist and hold a 75+# hog (ham, jabberwocki, turkey, mastadon, chicken, goose, side of beef etc. ;-)) All I need to know is how long it needs to be, preferably no longer than 8 feet as it will need to fit in my car (may be able to do 10' but let me know).

Are we gonna draw straws to see who carries the gas and flares, the way I got it figured, if the ham weighs 35# we're gonna need at least 5 gal of gas to get that baby SMOKED! Just a thought.

This still has me confused. You mean the trailsname is "Axson Rd."? Why does it appear on maps as a road if it's not open the vehichle traffic? Was it ever used as or intended to be a road?

You're not confused. Part of the trail is a closed section of the old dirt county road, now a forest fire trail. Easy wide track. Great for groups. Hiker friendly

OK...even though we have a month, lets get down to business (?)

IF you want to bring a massive hunk of meat on a spit.....let me know.....
I am more than willing to help cook it, and keep it going. Here is what my plan is......though it means nothing...
I will bring in a couple of bottles of wine....

It appears this year it will be at the Ruins......good choice, it will be fun.

My plan is showing up Thursday afternoon, and remaining until Sunday. anyone who is interested, can ride with, or meet me at the trail head. we can walk in together. Farmer Ron MAY be meeting me in Seymour and riding in together. Again from the trial Head it is about 1.5 to 2 miles to the ruins. and it is 90% flat walking, so if your a novice...PLEASE PLEASE COME!!!!

See you all on the Trail..
