From G-maps it would appear to be about 1 mile down a fire access road (I refuse to call it a trail) and about .5-1 mile down actual trail; depending on where you decide to set-up. Topo looks like it's mostly flat, and the pics posted look like some easy trail.

I took a little stroll down there, and reviewed the area very well......I believe ( and i am NOT the final say ) West of the cematery 3 or 4 hundred yards are several good spots to hang......after reviewing the thread here it appears there will be about 14 showing up. this area could hold 20 to 25 very easily...BUT the down side.....lack of water in the area.....will have to walk several hundred yards to the lake or the small stream.....Or possibly the pond...

The area next to the ruins is nice, but very little level areas for sitting and relaxing.....

I like this, Jerry, that way those who are coming in at night will more easily find us, like Skyline, etc..

You got that right, it ain't no trail. I usually can't wait to get off that fire road and into the forest.

Is the plan to stay at one site the entire time or will you all be moving around?

Thanks Mule, I am hoping everyone can make it and not get lost.....

    AaronAlso....

your right the fire road is flat with very little hills...I believe just off the parking area is the only hill to go down and climb, and its absolutely nothing to worry about...after that its 90% flat to the cematary....When you get to the cemetary, keep going West.....and stay on the ridge, this will get you to the camping area. Again, Ron the farmer, Chris, and a couple others are planning on coming in on Thursday night....so if you cant find us...give us a shout...We can come get you, or whistle you in....

    Opie.....

We plan ( i believe ) to stay at the same spot.....and each one can do day hikes to anywhere. I want to check my new phone out it has GPS, and compass reading on it....so I plan on takeing several hikes during the day. But i believe there wil be someone at the camp at all times.

Doc....gonna be good to see you again, looking forward to more stories about the AT.....

BonsiHiker....you coming??? not heard from you......This time i hope to sit with you and chat a while...after all your the blame ( ) i am in this forum...

I will get some yellow ribbon and tie it to the trees.....

FOllow the main fire trail for a while....I will tie a ribbon to a tree somethere near the 1/2 way point...

THe next ribbon will be at the point you turn WEST to get to the cematary...

once you ge there stay on the NORTH side of the fence and follow it west. to the end of the fence.....I will tie there.....

Follow the fence SOUTH...to the end...I will mark it again there....

Follow the trail WEST...I will mark it near the pond.....stay WEST....I will make it again near the 1/2 way point.....I will tie several strands on a tree when your within ear shot.....Hollow at that point...we will hear you...

    Cant wait...gonna be good time...
