    No See Um Netting

There has been some discussion in another group about the netting in the JH and the Expedition. I am considering purchasing both for the wife and myself. We have noseeums big time in northern lower michigan during some times of the year. Doesn't seem to be any consistency to when they are there, seldom long, however you feel like someone is running needles through your skin when they are in their prime.

Anyone had experience with the stock netting and no see ums? Would like to avoid replacing the netting if possible. Thanks in advance.

People lump a lot of things under the category of No see-ums; If they are flying the expedition's netting seems to work well, can't say anything for the JH as I haven't used one... As far as the other form of no see-ums like skin mites, you can get those just by brushing up against plants in thick brush, I once got them running crosscountry one season... I hate parasites

I am referring to the flying type. I do know what you mean about the plants. We picked raspberries last year and got chiggers really bad. They burrow and irritate with incredible welts. I think I will try the netting as is and risk some discomfort. The no see ums we have are barely visible, land on the skin and bite hard. They don't leave welts, they just hurt. Feels like a pin prick. Thanks for the feedback.

I have a expedition and the bug netting seems to work on everything I've run into so far. One thing to be aware of is just about anything can land on the netting and bite any bare skin in contact with the other side of the netting.

Spray the whole thing down with permethrin one treatment is suppose to be good for 2 years so one can even though it's expensive is a good investment at dealing with these little SOBs.
